On Wednesday morning, Adam and I decided that we wanted to take the kids to do something fun as a family. We've heard lots of great things about the Hands on Children's Museum in Olympia, so we headed down there for the day. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and we had such a fun time!!!! Although, I think everyone had the same idea as us because the place was packed. The kids spent a full two hours exploring, playing, touching, building, splashing, crawling, climbing, and laughing!! We are considering a family membership for the next year...this place is awesome!!!
The "veterinarian office" where the boys picked out a pet dog!
Jake enjoyed this treehouse....no grownups were allowed!
Brett spent some time "watering" in the garden
Our very own ticket master!
I think they spent at least 20 minutes on the ambulance. Jake kept telling the kids that he rode one himself and therefore knew how to drive! Brett just spent most of his time trying to kiss the little girl on his left. We had to keep pulling him off of her (notice me in the background watching carefully)!
Brett loved the train room! Every little boy's dream!
There was an entire room full of costumes that the kids could dress up in. Most of them were animals and fairys but Jake dug through until he found a firefighter!
Brett fell down played on the big toy
This was one of my favorite activites--the blue sand! It was so fun to play with. I'm not sure who enjoyed this more....me or them?
If you look closely, you can see "boulders" in the background. Jake took his job very seriously as he scooped all of them into the back of the dumptruck.
This is a wall of those soft needles that you push on that leave an imprint....so cool!!!
Our construction worker putting on his worker goggles. ;-)
Cool guy
Here is where Brett played for a good 40 minutes! It was really nice that they supplied rain jackets, otherwise Brett would have been soaked. The water table had a current in it, so he sent ducks, boats, fish, etc down the river over and over and over and over......
He was in his glory!
This was where Jake played the whole time that Brett was in the water. This was a three story ship and Jake took his role as "captain" very seriously. He steered, controlled, told kids what to do and where to go so that they would stay on course (much like pirates supposedly do). He had me looking a maps and eating in the galley while he guided us on.
The museum is located directly across the street from the captiol building, so we thought it would be a good idea to walk over and play on the lawn. Obviously, it was Veteran's Day, so we checked out the memorials and all of the beautiful flowers that people were laying down.
We couldn't have asked for better weather!

On this day we remembered and were thankful for all who have served or are currently serving for our country. We are specifically praying for Mark Fuller and Adam Smith as they bravely serve in our military. We send them many blessing and hope that they are able to stay strong and come home healthy!!! God Bless you two!
An incredible totem pole on the captiol lawn
And one last cute picture....who can resist this sweet face?
